My New Thing: Bethenny Ever After

So normally I just stick to MTV and E! when I want reality shows, but a few weeks ago I stumbled upon Bethenny Frankel’s show “Bethenny Ever After.” My life was changed forever. I’m going to be honest, all of the “Housewives” shows make me want to stab my own eyeballs out. When I heard that she was originally on Housewives of New York I was not willing to give her show a shot. Yet I somehow got sucked into watching a few minutes of her spinoff, and now I’m hooked.  I’m following her on Twitter and I’m going to buy her book A Place of Yes. I am buying what she’s selling. Literally.

Bethenny is hilarious. Plain and simple. She tells it like it is and she is sarcastic. I’m pretty sure she’s Jewish because she has that Jewish sense of humor that I, as a fellow member of the tribe, appreciate. Also, her last name is Frankel so…I’m going to say it’s a safe bet that she’s Jewish. Girlfriend likes to get dressed up and do her thing, but at the end of the day she cares about her husband and her baby. I appreciate that.

She freaked out when her husband tried to throw her a fancy 40th birthday party. She would much rather spend her birthday having a pretend beach day in the bathtub with her husband, baby, and dog. And her dog’s name is Cookie. Her life doesn’t get any cuter. I love her for her various neuroses and her one-liners.

I’m not exactly sure what her husband, Jason, did before he met Bethenny. I guess I could Wikipedia it, couldn’t I? I know that now he helps manage her Skinnygirl Margarita company. I also think he is absolutely perfect for her, and I love them together. Although I could do without him calling her “mama” or “mommy” all the time. If he’s “talking” to Baby Brynn, that’s one thing. If the baby is not around and he’s just talking to her one-on-one, he should probably just call her by her name. Details. He really does seem like a great guy. And he’s cute too. Go, Bethenny.

My boss loves this show too, so sometimes we’ll talk about various work things and then we’ll randomly slip into conversation about Bethenny’s antics. It’s pretty awesome. Now that “Teen Mom 2” is over for the season, you’ll probably find me writing about Ms. Frankel. Hope you don’t mind. Are you guys sipping the Bethenny Kool-Aid too?
