My Summer Reading List

You know how when you were a kid in middle/high school you always got an assigned summer reading list? I was a nerd and loved reading so I usually didn’t mind, but I know some kids absolutely DREADED the summer reading list. Well I’m creating my own summer reading list. For myself.  For a while there was nothing that I was dying to read, and all of a sudden I keep seeing and hearing about books that look really interesting. The only fatal flaw with this plan is that I still have to work every day and don’t actually have a summer vacation, so I guess this is more of a “Spare Time Reading List.” Nonetheless (yeah, I said it) I’m excited to read these books. Here’s what’s on the list:

” A Place of Yes” by Bethenny Frankel

I have a bit of a Bethenny obsession going on, and this book seems great. I love the way she speaks and acts, so I think I’ll like the way she writes. She also has genuinely good advice to give, so I think this will be a good read.

“Lies That Chelsea Handler Told Me” by Friends of Chelsea Handler and Chelsea herself

I watch Chelsea’s show every night and am obsessed with the “spin-off” (I guess you could call it) “After Lately” so I will definitely be reading this one. I’ve read all of her other books at least twice. Yeah, I’m a serious fan.

“The Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins

To be honest, I have no idea what this book is about. It’s something science-fictiony, post-apocalyptic or something. I am being a total bandwagoner by wanting to read this, and I’m fine with it. This book has gotten insanely good reviews and is being made into a movie, so I want to read it. I will report back. Listen, I didn’t claim to be reading any classic American literature here. I do read/have read the classics, but now is not the time or place for that. This is fun reading.

Is there anything you guys are dying to read? Anything you’ve read recently that you think I should read? Let me know!
