I Can't Stop Listening to: "Sigh No More" by Mumford and Sons

I have a feeling today is going to be a day of short posts. This is partly because I have had WAY too much coffee and not enough sleep so I am both very tired and over caffeinated, and am bouncing off the walls with a sort of ADD/hyperactivity that’s truly amazing. Therefore, I don’t think a long and insightful post is happening today. But we shall see. I may surprise you. And myself.

This post is dedicated to one of my newest Mumford and Sons-based obsessions. If you know me, you know I LOVE Mumford and Sons’ music. I also have a not-so-secret crush on Marcus Mumford. The track I’m really loving lately is called “Sigh No More”.  It starts off a little slow, but then slowly builds and is gorgeous and wonderful. The harmonies on it are perfection.  As a former theater/choir girl, I appreciate them.

Also to be appreciated are the lyrics. There’s a portion of the lyrics that go “Love it will not betray you, dismay or enslave you. It will set you free. Be more like the man you were made to be.”  I love that. How beautiful and true are those words, right? To me, you could read that at a wedding in place of that psalm that says, ” Love is patient. It is kind. It does not want” or however that piece that is read at every single wedding ever goes. Maybe I’ll do that when I eventually get married. I’ll be so unique and modern. Go me! Okay, I really need to eat before bad things start happening.

Enjoy the great song!
