No, I'm Not Over '90s-Style Pop

Many things have changed since the 90s. Technology is different. I’m older and wiser. I can drive and live on my own. But one thing hasn’t changed and that is this: I still love bubblegum, 90’s-style pop. When we were growing up, boy bands such as ‘N Sync and Backstreet Boys dominated the airwaves. You couldn’t escape Christina Aguilera and/or Britney Spears. These people may be some combination of elderly/chunky now, but that doesn’t mean this style of music has gone away. No, not at all.

Have you heard the song “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen? I literally listen to that song on loop all day. It’s not a joke. That song is amazingly catchy. It’s the same kind of ’90s-style pop I grew up on and I love it and all its sugary goodness.

That music video I linked to features Selena Gomez and the Biebs, which is pretty cool. Ashley Tisdale also makes an appearance. This is actually not the official video for this song, but…it’s pretty awesome.

In case you’re in boy band withdrawal, bands like The Wanted and One Direction are here to satisfy your stool-sitting, button down-wearing, synchronized needs. Okay, they may not be as Backstreet as BSB was but…they’re still fun.

The 90s live on through these bands and these songs and I absolutely love it. Are you a fan?
