One of the things I like about living in my hometown is that I get to see people who matter to me from my childhood/high school life. One of those people is my high school English teacher. I had him for junior and senior year English, and he and I were really close. He’s basically one of the best people you’ll ever meet in your life. Anyway, he sent me a link to this site called 1000 Awesome Things. You have to check it out. Seriously. Right now.
The site counts down 1,000 awesome things about the world and they are so spot-on. I had the biggest, cheesiest smile on my face as I read through this site. Some of my favorite items on the list of awesome include:
-when a new friend calls you by your nickname
-when little kids get really, really excited
– rogue children at restaurants (you know, when little kids wander up to your table)
-the moment you realize your headache is gone (this is too frequent for me, unfortch)
-when everything you own is fully charged
-when you’re kissing someone and you can feel them smile (awww)
-the first ten seconds after you wiggle yourself into a comfy sleeping position
If you want to smile even more, watch this video called Caine’s Arcade. It’s about a nine-year-old boy who builds an arcade out of cardboard boxes and awesomeness (the theme of the day). Seriously, Caine for President. This kid’s going to be the next Steve Jobs. Watch this vid and try not to cry. I dare ya. If that doesn’t grab you, watch another Anderson Cooper giggle fit. Seriously, his laughter is like the sound of angels singing. I want to make his giggles my ringtone. I love him.
